Details

It's believed that Otis Redding wrote the famous song "Sitting on the Dock of the Bay" while sitting on the Main Dock in Sausalito's house boat community. Some historians believe Redding wrote the song on the dock, while others believe he wrote it while inside a houseboat, looking out onto the Bay, according to Sausalito Historical Society. Please note that Waldo Harbor is private property, but you can view the harbor from a distance.
