You can bike, hike, drive, or take a boat to Sausalito which is served by multiple public transportation systems including Golden Gate Transit which offers both buses and ferries to/from San Francisco and the rest of Marin County.
Getting Around Downtown
Bike
All of the bicycle parking racks in the downtown area are located within a short walk to all of the downtown attractions. If the bicycle rack you want to park at is full, please go to the next closest rack to find and open slot. Please DO NOT park your bicycle in a non-bicycle parking rack or designated area. Doing so, the bicycle will be subject to being impounded.

Golden Gate Transit bus fares vary according to trip length and number of fare zones crossed. All riders are required to pay a fare, except children 4 and younger who ride for free when accompanied by an adult (limit 2 children per adult). Scroll down to see different fare types and fare zones.
