The Phil Frank Statue is five feet and ten inches tall and stands as a greeter at the corner of Bridgeway and Bay in Sausalito. The statue is outside Sausalito's Ice House Museum in the Ice House Plaza. Plans for the Ice House Plaza were approved by the Planning Commission and the Historic Landmarks Board in February 2017. In May 2017, the City Council approved the placement of the Phil Frank statue. Phil Frank was a cartoonist, best known as the creator of the comic Strip "Farley." Frank was also the founder of Sausalito's Historical Society and a political activist, according to the Sausalito Historical Society. Frank died in 2007, according to the Marin Independent Journal. This piece honors Frank and continues his legacy as a prominent historical figure in Sausalito.
